Study destinations:

USA, United Kingdom, France, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, India etc are some countries for abroad study. After the completion of degree, most colleges and universities in these countries allow students to work on their campus if they have F-1 student visa. They are placed in jobs based on their financial need and personal skills.

Exams for abroad study:

GRE: GRE is graduate record examination. This is to calculate the students potential for admissions in Research programs, Graduate studies etc. It tests the fundamental skills such as Reasoning and Comprehension and it is conducted by the ETS (Educational Testing Services), United States of America.
TOEFL: It is the test of English as foreign language for the students to test its understanding of American English at college level. The TOEFL test measures English language proficiency in reading, listening and writing of the student.
SAT: School admission test is an exam for under graduate courses in America. The SAT is a three-hour test that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning skills of the student.
GMAT: Graduate management admission test is to determine the aptitude of students to succeed academically in graduate business studies. GMAT measures verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills for the student to study MBA courses.
IELTS: It is an English Language Proficiency test is required for study in countries like Australia, Canada and New Zealand. It is not accepted by USA universities. Candidates can retake the test if they do not achieve the desired score but not before three months from the first test date.

Study abroad process begins with proper planning. First select the Country, then University and finally the course to be studied. Get the application form and take various tests required. Send the application form to the chosen university together with the required certificates i.e. mark sheets of previous studies, recommendation letter, proof of proficiency in language going to study, proof of the funds to study and live etc. Then the application is looked by the university, if the applicant is eligible to study the selected course in their organization, then they will send the acceptance letter.
After got the letter of acceptance, schedule an appointment to the director of study abroad, to get new ideas, about the types of courses going to study etc. Passport is essential for this study; apply for visa. Visa process varies county to country, so advanced planning is necessary. The medical insurance detail of the candidate is also needed to study overseas. The participation of pre departure orientation program is mandatory for the candidate.


Types of courses available:

Some of the available courses to study in abroad are Diploma courses, Undergraduate courses, Post graduate courses, Research programs, summer and part time courses, Business courses, courses for teachers etc. Some universities are teaching courses for children, adults and also for old age people. These organizations offer good and free accommodation to the participants. Language courses, Exchange programs are also included in abroad study.


Some suggestions for the candidate:

Before leaving your country, consult the doctor for a full check to ensure that you are in good health. Know the host country's immunization requirements and become immunized before departure. Understand and comply with the terms of participation, codes of conduct and emergency procedures and obey destination country laws. Behave in a good manner that is respectful to rights and well being of others in that country. Also become familiar with the procedures of obtaining emergency health and law enforcement services in the host country.
